Mr. M. Latif Hasan is a highly experienced banking professional with over three decades of expertise in Corporate Banking, Credit Risk Management, and Business Development. He currently serves as Deputy Managing Director of United Commercial Bank PLC, where he leads the Structured Corporate Division, focusing on specialized financing solutions, deepening client relationships, and driving sustainable business growth.

As a Director of UCB Investment Limited, Mr. Hasan brings extensive industry knowledge and strategic insight, contributing to the company’s governance and long-term development initiatives.

Prior to joining United Commercial Bank PLC, Mr. Hasan served as Head of Corporate Banking at Habib Bank Limited, Bangladesh operations. Over the course of his career, he has held several senior leadership positions, including Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer at Standard Bank Limited. He has also worked with Citibank N.A., Eastern Bank Limited, and Prime Bank Limited in key roles.

In 2009, he led a study funded by the IFC on how international arbitration can enhance investment in Bangladesh. The research examined global best practices and proposed reforms to make Bangladesh a more attractive investment destination.

Mr. Hasan’s core competencies include corporate relationship management, credit and risk management, finance, and banking operations. He also contributed to regulatory initiatives as a member of the Basel II Core Implementation Team and the Tax Reform Committee.

He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Dhaka and an MBA from Victoria University, and is a CSA-certified professional from Omega Performance, USA.
