S. M. Mainul Kabir, with over 28 years of experience in the banking sector, has recently joined United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) as a Deputy Managing Director. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Managing Director at Community Bank, where he contributed to enhancing operations and driving the bank’s growth.

He began his career at National Bank Limited, where he held several key positions that played a pivotal role in the bank’s success. Over the years, he has held senior leadership roles at institutions such as Southeast Bank Limited, where he served as Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) and later as Deputy Managing Director (DMD). He has also worked with Jamuna Bank Limited, EXIM Bank, and other prominent financial institutions.

His expertise encompasses various aspects of banking operations, including branch management, trade finance, credit risk management, lending, and client relationship management. Renowned for his pragmatic approach, he excels in identifying effective solutions and assisting institutions in achieving their strategic goals.

Mr. Kabir’s academic background further supports his professional journey. He completed his Honors and Master’s degrees in Finance and Banking from the University of Dhaka with excellent results. Additionally, he earned an MBA from the Department of Management Studies at the same university, strengthening his knowledge in management and finance.
